In Celebration of

Cynthia Margarida Nazareth

January 7, 1949 -  October 26, 2022

On Wednesday October 26, 2022, Cynthia passed on to eternal life into the arms of her Saviour and the Blessed Mother Mary.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John Nazareth. Loving mother to Rachel (Mike) and Paul (Chastity). Youngest daughter of Nascimento and Rose Fernandes. Beloved sister of Melba (deceased), Rosario (Renee) and Phina (Edmond). She loved, and was adored, by her grandchildren, Luke, Tristan, and Gabriel.

The family is so grateful to have shared Cynthia with countless people. She brought laughter and joy into the lives of so many.  She lived and worked in three continents in Kampala (Uganda), London (UK) and Toronto (Canada) and she touched the lives of people in offices and volunteer spaces alike.  Cynthia and her husband had a deep love for their Goan community and were very active members of the G.O.A.  They were also heavily involved in their Catholic parish community in both spiritual service and social aspects.  In the past three years she finally stepped into a spiritual leadership role in the Goan community and was a guiding light for many during Covid-19 and beyond. Her greatest joy was all the volunteer work she did, and her proudest achievement was
teaching children to read at Canadian Martyrs School.

She loved to explore new culinary delights and travel, she was always ready for an adventure both in her neighbourhood and abroad.  She cared for so many people and included them on many an adventure.  She loved her friends and music and often accompanied John in singing hymns for many occasions. She loved parties and enjoyed dancing away with John and her friends.

Cynthia also loved fashion and her bright sense of style and her laughter always lit up a room.  She will be deeply missed, but we wish her well on her next boundless adventure in heaven.

Should you wish to make a gift in her honour please donate to the charity of your choice.

I couldn't have found a better and dearer friend than Cynthia. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. I know I'm going to miss her "every other day" phone call.
