In Celebration of

Concezio DiVirgilio

October 24, 1946 -  April 17, 2020

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Concezio DiVirgilio on April 17, 2020. Concezio passed peacefully at the age of 73 from complications related to Covid-19.

Beloved husband of Lucia DiVirgilio to whom he was married 50 years. Loving Father of Dominic (Claudia), John (Michelle) and Gabriella (Tony). Proud grandfather of Mathew (predeceased), Steven, Alexander, Erica, Aimee, Isabella, Anthony, Gianluca and Alessia. Loving brother to Adele (Nicola) and Nick (Mary) DiVirgilio and son of predeceased Antonio & Lucia DiVirgilio. He will also be lovingly missed by his extended family and many friends.

Concezio was born in Castel Frentano, Abruzzo, Italy. He studied hairdressing and was very passionate about his craft. He later moved to Thompson, Manitoba with Lucy where he won several hairdressing contests, opened his business and raised his children. His journey led him to Ontario where he was passionate about his vegetable garden including his hundreds of tomato plants and growing the longest zucchini in Mississauga. Concezio was known for building amazing snow sculptures and creating captivating scenes with his Christmas lights. He loved to teach his grandkids how to do magic tricks. Concezio was a family man and will be remembered for his kindness and loyalty. We will forever reminisce about Concezio’s sharp sense of humour. To the entire DiVirgilio family, Please accept our deepest condolences - our thoughts and prayers are with you. Although I never had the pleasure to meet Concezio, having met and dealt with his son in business, he must have been a great man who taught his children extremely well. I'm certain that special spirit will live on.
