In Celebration of

Clomin (Chloe) Onari Smith

December 27, 1935 -  December 23, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clomin (Chloe) Onari Smith on December 23, 2021, at the age of 85.

Beloved mother of Karla (Rob) and Natasha. Cherished grandmother of Jessica (Alex), Marcus, Benjamin, Zoe, Matthew, Addie, Bennett, and Charlie. Will be dearly missed by her siblings Calmore (Carmen), Timothy, James (Mary), Ernest (Dorothy), Clytie (Newland), Maggie and Naomi; predeceased by her siblings Errie (Masie), Alan and Ena. She was loved by her many nephews, nieces and cousins, and friends worldwide.

After several years living with Alzheimer’s disease, in the end there was rest, peace and freedom. Chloe was feisty, fiercely independent, playful and larger than life! She was an artist, an activist, an ally, a feminist, an advocate and an environmentalist. She has always been a force to be reckoned with. She loved her family and friends deeply. Whether you called her mom, g-ma, grandma, auntie, sister, cuz, Chloe, Onari, Clo or Clomin, when you were in her world, she hung onto you tightly.

Thank you to all the staff at Etobicoke General. Your compassion and care were greatly appreciated during Chloe's final days.

A private service will be held in the coming weeks for immediate family. As Chloe wished, a celebration of life will be held in a Toronto garden in the spring of 2022 when it is safe to gather.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada (https://alzheimer.ca/en).
