In Celebration of

Clelia Di Carlo

January 29, 1934 -  June 26, 2025

Clelia Di Carlo, born on January 29, 1934, in Ripe di Civitella, Teramo, Abruzzo, passed peacefully with her family by her side on June 26, 2025, in Mississauga, Ontario. She was 91 years of age and lived a full life.

She is predeceased by her husband, Eugenio Di Carlo, her parents, Gennaro and Fioretta Di Lorenzo, her parents-in-law, Mafalda and Nicola Di Carlo, and her brothers, Paolo and Giuseppe Di Lorenzo. She leaves behind her sister, Linda Fagioli and an extended family in Italy, the United States and Canada. Loving mother of Elisabetta (Gaetano), Carlo (Lidia) and Claudio. Cherished grandmother, “nonna” of Serena (Carlo), Christian, Lauren, Chloe, Claudia, Olivia and Sydney (Ryan). Beloved great-grandmother, “bisnonna” of Gianluca, Harper, Quin and Nash.

Clelia immigrated to Toronto, Canada in the 1950s. She worked at Consumers Glass for 14 years and later devoted her life to raising her children. She was a woman ahead of her time. She never missed an opportunity to speak her mind and provide unsolicited advice but was loved for it. She had great charisma and presence. She loved fashion and was always impeccably dressed. She was a fantastic cook and took great pride in her garden. She was an adoring aunt and grandmother, who was a second mother to Luciano, Joey, Serena and Christian. She instilled an appreciation of Italian traditions and culture in her children and grandchildren, returning to Italy often with her family.

Clelia will be remembered for her infectious love of people, parties and life. We will miss her dearly. She leaves a significant void in the Di Lorenzo and Di Carlo families.

Friends and family may be received at Turner & Porter Funeral Home, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga on Friday July 4th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena church, 2340 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, on Saturday July 5th at 9:30 a.m.

In memory of Clelia, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
