In Celebration of

Cindy Holovac Leithead

July 23, 1961 -  September 14, 2024

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 63, Cindy passed away peacefully, with her family by her side after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 29 years, Iain Leithead and her daughter Tara Oksana Holovac Leithead. She will lay peacefully with her mother Olga and her father John.

Friends and family may join us at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. for a Memorial Service to honour our beloved mother and wife Cindy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellsprings Birmingham Gilgan House (Halton-Peel). They provide exceptional support services that provide care and knowledge to those living with cancer and families.

Cindy’s family would encourage individuals to share a memory, a story or a message of sympathy/condolence in remembrance of their beloved mother/wife.

Cindy's daughter, Tara, is very much like a sister to me and Cindy always treated me like her own. I lived very far from home while I was going to school in Toronto and she was very much like a mother to me, always offering her advice, food and a room to stay! Her smile and laugh always lit up any room she was in. She always congratulated me on my milestone accomplishments, near or far. I know that Tara would not be the amazing best friend that I have today if it wasn't for her one of a kind mom. Thank you for teaching your daughter to be one of the most thoughtful, kind hearted humans that I know. Thank you for all the advice and guidance you provided during the hard time when my husband lost his granny. We wouldn't have known what to do without you. You will be so dearly missed by the Rossiter family <3

It is so sad to hear of Cindy’s passing. She was far to young but had bravely battled against illness for a long time before inevitably scumming.
We send our deepest sympathies to Iain and Tara.

Although we had met Cindy on her trips to Scotland with Iain and Tara, it was when we went to Canada for Suzanne’s wedding and stayed with Iain Cindy and Tara in their house that we really got to now her.
Cindy was the perfect hostess, for all the Scottish family - staying in her house!

Cindy came across to Scotland on several occasions but sadly the weather always seemed to be very Scottish (wet), so she never saw the true beauty of Scotland that Iain had told her about.

On one occasion Cindy gifted a garden plaque to David which still stands in his garden today as a reminder of her.

Cindy always remained cheerful and upbeat when we spoke to her on our regular calls, even in the latter stages of her illness.

Stay strong Iain and Tara. We are all thinking of you.
