In Celebration of

"Woody" (Charles Keith) Woodward

February 22, 1927 -  December 13, 2018

Sadly we announce the death of Woody (Charles Keith) Woodward on Thursday, December, 13th at Credit Valley Hospital. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Helen Elizabeth Maude, his children Robin Pittaway (Bill), Elaine Woodward, Leslie Woodward, Jeff Woodward (Marcia). Grandchildren Kyle Pittaway (Stacey), Mitchell Pittaway (Hannah), Lawrence Hartwick. 2 great-grandchildren, and sister Joan (Valentini), pre-deceased by brother Bruce.

Woody was born in Toronto, moved to New Toronto which brought him to Mimico High School where he was a star in football, basketball and track and field. It was here he met Helen. From high school he entered the Charter Accountant’s course, worked as a broker on Bay St, to finally opening his own business, “Fairview Fittings”. Not only is it coast to coast in Canada, but is also in the United States. In 2019 Fairview will celebrate their 50th anniversary, a great tribute to the founder.

Although we are sad at his passing we are relieved that finally, Woody has found peace after his long struggle with Alzheimer’s.

A celebration of his life will take place at 2 P.M. Friday, February 1st, 2019 at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, Old Carriage Road, Mississauga.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice.

I have many fond memories of Woody at our Ball games where topics would be how far Toby could throw a ball or how I made it to second with the ball being hit to the short stop, but it didn't take long for the topic to change "so how's business he would ask" I remember Jim, Jeff and myself coming back from a a golf game in Niagara or somewhere down there and a spark plus in my 92 Aerostar van blew on the QEW. well we made it back to the house and Woody came out and met us in the drive way. Knowing I wasn't going far with my van, Woody said "leave the van and take VW Rabbit or the XJ and pick the van up tomorrow" well, the XJ sounded fabulous but I thought it best to go with the Rabbit. This is how I remember Woody, he didn't think twice to give you a hand when needed.
