In Celebration of

Charles Gordon Thorpe

August 10, 1929 - November 30, 2021

On November 30, 2021, at 92 years of age Charles Gordon Thorpe peacefully passed away at home with members of his family by his side. He is predeceased by his first wife Barbara, (mother of his children Ken (Carol), Robert (Bonnie), Susan (Craig) and David (Lynn)), Father (Manser), Mother (Madeline), Brother (Walter), great grandson (Oliver) and he is survived by his wife Alma, sister Mary (Rene), 11 grandchildren and
12 great grandchildren as well other members of the extended family.

Charles had a long continuous career with Goodyear Canada Inc.. Over 40 years with the company he held a variety of positions from Sales, Marketing, President of Seiberling Tire and Rubber Company, ending his career as Vice President of Original Equipment Sales.

While living in Calgary he was President of the Kiwanis Club 1964. In the late 1960’s he was the group committee chairman of the 1st Dixie Boy Scouts.

He loved to play golf, not that he was exceptional, but just enjoyed the walking. For most of his life he was a jogger, running almost every night.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be no funeral service, however a celebration of Charlie’s life will be announced at a later date.
