In Celebration of

Cecilia Samsundar

January 14, 1936 -  November 18, 2025

Cecilia Samsundar, passed peacefully in her sleep on Nov 18, 2025. She was born in Pepper Village, Fyzabad in Trinidad and Tobago, and immigrated to Canada over 35 years ago. Cecilia was the cherished daughter of the late Ruth Phawdarsingh and the elder sister of the late Dulcie Phawdarsingh. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Samsundar for 53 years. Cecilia was a devoted mother of 3: Angelene, Wayne and Kathleen. Loving grandmother to 6: Rehannah, Anthony, Karim, Cecilia, Samuel, and Rachelle. And a blessed great-grandmother of 8, with one on the way. She was a loving Aunt, (Tant) and friend to many.

Cecilia lived a life marked by faith - she fed orphans, gave generously to charity, and helped those in need. She was known for her exceptional cooking, refined taste, elegant style and love of decorating. Cecilia could always be heard singing a song or humming a verse. She loved to watch Indian movies and listen to Indian songs. Above all, Cecilia cherished her family, and her gentle wisdom, traditions and values will be passed down to future generations.

Cecilia’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in eternal peace and forever be remembered with love.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., (Hwy. 10, N of the QEW), Mississauga, on Saturday November 22, 2025 from 2 - 3 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday November 22, 2025, at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow
