Born in Zgorni Brnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Slovenia, Kingdom of Jugoslavia, November 21,1929 the middle child of 5 children born between 1927-1932. Cecilia passed away on Thursday August 17, 2023 at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years Joseph (2014), son John (2012) and grandson Luke (1998).

She leaves behind children: Joseph, Cecilia, Theresa (Ross) and Stephen (Karen); grandchildren: Matthew (Emily), Stephen, Jordan (Adrian), Taylor (Trevor), Maren, Clare, Crista, Andrew, and Michael. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada and Slovenia.

Cecilia arrived in Canada accompanied by her sister Mary, February 1950 at the young age of 21. She initially settled in Val d’Or, Quebec and in June 1952, in Malartic, Quebec she married Joseph Plut and together they had five children who became the focus of their lives. She was proud of being a master tailor and was able to work at her trade from home, thus allowing her to always be there for her children as they grew. She and the family moved to the Metro Toronto area in 1957. Cecilia loved being a grandmother and always looked forward to her grandchildren’s visits.
