We are so sorry to hear of Alex’s passing. I absolutely adored my uncle Alex and my daughters always thought he was so cool!
I cherish those summers spent with you all, Anita and Alex in Beaurepaire, free to ride my bike and play with you guys on the jungle gym, away from Outremont and the big city 😊
Please accept our condolences, our thoughts are with you and the family. I will forward your message to Françoise. Bon courage.

Mes pensées vous accompagnent en ces moments pénibles!
C’est toujours trop vite , mais il est resté un certain temps quand même avec vous !
Je me souviendrai d’Alex longtemps!

Alex, or Mr. Nowotny as I am more used to calling him, was a dear friend of my father and through their friendship, both families became friends - a friendship that has lasted more than 50 years. My father and Mr. Nowotny were soccer coaches and soccer referees together and eventually co- workers at Hoffmann Laroche where I also had the priceless of working as a summer student. Our families have been together through many of life’s ups and downs and Alex will be greatly missed by the Hills family. My deepest condolences to Carl & Viviane and their families. May Alex now rest peace with Anita and talk soccer again with my Dad!

Alex & Roy's friendship started with a business engagement in 1974, strengthened and continued with nearly 20 years together in Beaconsfield and Point Claire soccer, through a move to Toronto and on until Roy's passing in 2013. Our family has very fond memories of Alex spending evenings around the kitchen table running the Pointe Claire Soccer Association. They spent many weekends together coaching soccer, and taking turns refereeing indoor and outdoor soccer tournements. They continued to meet regularly for lunch long after they had both retired, and were a classic example of friends for life, through thick and thin. Sincerest condolences to Carl & Vivian.
