Bruce passed away in his 58th year, surrounded by the love of his family.

Loving husband of Sonia. Proud father of Normand (Austin). Caring brother to Wilson (Anne), Paul (Kristin), and uncle to Chandler (Stephanie). Parents Charles Wilson Doan and Margaret Cathleen Doan (nee Skitch).

Bruce devoted his professional life to protecting others; first as a customs officer and then as a firefighter for 27 years.

He was an avid traveller and a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Bruce enjoyed fishing, working on his Harley Davidsons, and spending time with his grand-puppy Odysseus.

He was always willing to give his time to those he cared about, epitomizing the expression “give the shirt off one’s back”.

Guests will be received at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, (N. of the QEW) on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. , when a Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel. An Honour Guard will be provided by Brampton Fire & Emergency Services.

As Bruce had a wide variety of passions and interests, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in memory of Bruce to the organization of your choice.
