It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved ‘Lovey’, a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
A true ‘bon viveur’, with his loving wife Danielle always at his side, he entertained guests with his quick wit and a true generosity of spirit. A wonderful host, he was always there for his friends and neighbours. His sharp mind and extraordinary memory gave him true comfort and purpose as his body ultimately began to tire.
A stalwart professional in the auto glass industry for more than three decades, he created a network of contacts that became friends across Canada. His passion for building and design created a beautiful family home full of warmth and love, and eventually became a second career when he started his own home renovation business ‘Added Attraction’.
Lovey was driven, original and a perfectionist when it came to his creations. In retirement, he never stopped planning and designing new projects and was never happier than when he was making something from repurposed materials that he collected with so much enthusiasm!
Though he was forced to slow down in his later years, he never gave up the dream of getting back ‘in the action’ and was still directing operations up until he passed in his sleep surrounded by family members at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto.
Farewell to a kind, loving man, and loyal friend.
He is survived by his wife Danielle, his children Nathalie (Jason) and Philippe (Jane) and his beloved grandchildren Parker and Chase.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bruce Buckland to support The Bachir Yerex Family Dialysis Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto, using the link below.
