In Celebration of

Brooke Elizabeth Brigden Wilkinson

March 8, 1989 -  January 4, 2022

It is with breaking hearts that we announce our amazing daughter, Brooke, passed away suddenly at home in her sleep on January 4, 2022 at the age of 32.

Brooke was a beautiful person, both inside and out. A gifted student and an awesome writer with a wonderful sense of humour, she lit up every room she walked in to. She loved music, dancing, travelling, and surrounding herself with family and friends. She had deep compassion and was always willing to help everybody, especially those less fortunate than herself.

Brooke adored her two cats, Bear and Teenie and she took them with her everywhere. They quickly became part of our family and they brought her much joy.

After winning awards in English, Creative Writing, French and photography at St. Paul’s Secondary School, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University. She worked in social media at Rogers Communications, Corus Entertainment, Marigold Marketing & PR and then started Brooke Brigden Media.

Brooke would want us all to laugh together and remember her good memories. Her own infectious laugh and quick wit will never be forgotten. Bear and Teenie are safe with us and that would make her very happy.

She leaves behind her adoring parents, Paula and Don Wilkinson (who she called Paula B and Kevin Bacon), her cherished older brother Matthew, her loving grandparents Mabel (Belle) and William (Bill) Wilkinson, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her grandparents Gordon and Theresa Brigden.

A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Life for Brooke will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to Mississauga Animal Services Shelter (SCARF) - https://www.mississauga.ca/services-and-programs/animals-and-pets/donate-to-the-mississauga-animal-shelter

We’re so thankful for the many, many happy memories of Brooke that will help to dull the pain of losing her so soon. Everyone who met Brooke commented on her beauty, but Brooke herself was unaware of it. Despite her beauty, brains and quick wit, Brooke never considered herself better than anyone else; she was kind, open and friendly to anyone she crossed paths with. Remembering her laugh will always bring a smile to our faces, despite the sadness inside. We love you Brooke!

Brooke was a beauty, what else can I say. I knew her when I was 6 years old and into my 30s. She will be remembered for her smile that could pierce a hole through anyone’s troubles. RIP Brooke!

Deeply deeply saddened by this… my condolences to to Brooke’s family. Words cannot express… The last time I saw Brooke was many years ago, and our paths almost crossed again when she was in Vancouver for work a few years back… I reached out when I saw she was in town and apparently just missed her as she had flown home a day earlier… I’m so sorry to have missed that chance. Rest In Peace Brooke, you are loved and missed by so many…
