In Celebration of

Brian Matthew Slowey

September 22, 1979 -  May 12, 2023

Unexpectedly in the arms of his wife at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, at the age of 43. Born in Winchester, Ontario, Brian was the deeply loved fifth child of Dr. Gabriel Slowey and the late Mary (Keaveney) Slowey. Devoted husband of his high school sweetheart, Chantelle Blom. Adored father of Grace and Emma Slowey. Dear brother of Gabrielle Slowey, Daragh (Kimberly) Slowey, Clodagh Slowey, and Emily (Geoff) Martin. Caring uncle of Brogan, Aidan, Connor, Adelaide, Mya, and Talia. Much loved son-in-law of Vince and Mary Blom. Cherished brother-in-law of Robyn (Matthew) Blom, Theo (Christian) Blom, and Michelle (Yaser) Hussain.

Brian loved a personal challenge, big and small. He was continuously setting new goals and devising seemingly overambitious projects that he delivered with style and against all odds. He raised the bar for all those around him, encouraging everyone to shift their perspectives to see what was possible and to choose optimism.

He was incredibly creative, passionate and cared deeply about his family and friends. With his quick wit, talent for storytelling and signature hearty laugh, he will be remembered fondly for the brightness he brought to all.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 1701 Bloor St. W., on Friday May 19, 2023 at 1 p.m. A livestream of the mass will be available through the church website and church Facebook page. Outdoor reception to follow.

Brian and his family are forever grateful for the exceptional and compassionate care that Brian received at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Dear Brian, You will be missed by our family. Seeing Chantelle so happy at her wedding, and with your girls, was always a joy for us. Your smile told it all, you were happy and proud of your dear family. Your love of games and cards, and your ability to tease subtly, made you a perfect fit with the family. We are so sorry for everyone's loss of such a special person. Janet, Jorgen, Kyle, Rabeaa, Leah & Magnus. ❤️
