In Celebration of

Braden Story

September 9, 1994 -  September 2, 2020

It is with immeasurable sadness the family of Braden Story announces his passing after taking his own life on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the age of twenty-five.

Braden will be adoringly remembered by his devoted parents Tom and Doris Story, his dedicated brothers Evan and Conner, and loving Nonna Maria Ivis, Uncle Frank, Aunt Ingrid, Cousin Briana and Auntie Sharon Story as well as innumerable friends and co-workers. Braden had a special connection to his dog Bella, and she misses him greatly.

We are so proud of Braden’s achievements throughout all of his academic years culminating with making the Dean’s List on graduation from Laurier University. And also, Braden never met a Jigsaw or Sudoku puzzle he couldn’t conquer.

Braden made fitness a priority and had a passion for playing hockey, lacrosse and softball but it was golf in the last several years that he also enjoyed enormously and played when he could. When he wasn’t participating in sports, he loved to watch his Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors. He was a true and loyal fan. All his activities were made that much more special being surrounded by his friends.

When Braden came into our lives, we were complete. He was precious, genuine and loving with an unmatched wit that kept us laughing.

He loved traditions from everyday family dinners to his daily good-bye kiss from Mom before work. His positive light was felt by all who knew him. So even though a dark hole of sadness now remains, we pray to one day fill it with days of happy memories.

Forever wouldn’t be long enough. But we are grateful we had almost 26 years with him. Even through tears, we will always remember Braden’s beautiful smile.

There will be a private funeral with a larger capacity memorial to follow at a later date.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to the Story family during this difficult time.

I am an old neighbour of the family and lived on Collista/Ganymede. I recall great memories from my childhood playing outside with Braden and the other children in the neighbourhood. He always had a big smile on his face and found fun in whatever he was doing.

May Braden rest in peace
