Br Adrian Richard Gill

May 31, 1948 -  June 24, 2021

Br Adrian Gill, OHC died on June 24 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He was born on May 31, 1948 in Warsaw, New York. Br Adrian was the son of Laverne and Rita Gill. He is survived by his siblings, Kathleen Kershenski, Daniel, David and Kevin Gill, and Maureen Stillwell. His brother Stephen predeceased him. Br Adrian was a life professed member of the Order in 1976. He graduated with a BA Degree from the State University of New York in 1980 and in 1987 completed his training as a nurse from the Medical Center School of Nursing in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In the Order, Br. Adrian served as infirmarian, member of Council, head of kitchen, and Director of Health Care. He was stationed in the Order’s houses in West Park, New York, New York City, Liberia, West Africa, Santa Barbara, California and Toronto.
For several years, Br. Adrian worked as a nurse and became the regional supervisor of hospice Care in New Jersey. He retired from that position in 2017. In 2018 he came to Toronto to be at Holy Cross Priory. Along with his monastic duties at the Priory, he volunteered in assisting with the Wednesday drop in for students at St. John’s Anglican Church, West Toronto.
A requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on July 17, 2021 at St. John’s Anglican Church, West Toronto. Because of the pandemic restrictions, attendees must register with the Brothers at the Priory. The immurement of Br. Adrian’s ashes will be done in October at Holy Cross Monastery, West Park, New York.
