It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Ruth Peart (nee Scarlett) on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 at the age of 93. Bonnie was surrounded by her loving sons Bruce and John and close friends Laura Kirkwood and Jeanne Renton in her final days. Her family will miss her immensely: Bruce, Brenda, Carly and Blake of Halifax; John, Dawn and Samantha of Calgary; Lexi of London, England; and Josh and Shaun of Southern Ontario.
Bonnie was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Peter Atkinson Peart, her cousin Kathaleen (Kay) Greer and her parents Ethel and Frank Scarlett.
Bonnie was born December 16, 1930 in Toronto and grew up on a family farm then moved to Burlington to raise her family. Bonnie was a very active volunteer in her life contributing to Neighbourhood Watch, Port Nelson United Church, Joseph Brant Hospital and other worthy causes. In her later years with her husband Peter, they spent much of their time at their cottage near Peterborough enjoying the peace and quiet surrounded by nature.
Bonnie was a loving grandmother to Samantha, Carly, Lexis, Joshua and Shaun and great-grandmother to Blake, Maddison and Ella. One of her favourite gifts was a blanket with their photos on it. They will remember her as a caring grandmother who made them smile and laugh.
Bonnie was laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Toronto next to her family – mom (Ethel), dad (Frank), and her husband Peter Atkinson Peart.
Deep gratitude to those who provided Bonnie with kindness and excellent care over the past few years. Thank you to Reverend Louise Hart from Port Nelson Church (Burlington) for her comforting prayers. May Bonnie rest in peace.
We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories in our Guestbook and view the photos.
