In Celebration of

Bonnie Motyka Ginko

July 28, 1963 -  June 28, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Ramona Ginko, 61, of Mississauga, Ontario, on June 28, 2025.

Bonnie was born on July 28, 1963 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Florence and Edward Motyka. Bonnie was known for her strong sense of family and her kind heart. Her delicious baking was a way she shared her heart with those who knew her…often making cakes for special occasions/birthdays. She had a special knack for keeping in touch with extended family/friends from near and far and had this ability to remember details of long ago that seemed to be the glue that bound the family tightly together.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Peter Ginko. She was a devoted and loving mother to Aleksander and Justin. She is survived by her siblings, brother Leslie Motyka (Marzena) and sister Angelique Markin (Jerry), niece Melissa Puchalski (Alex), nephew Lucas Motyka (Samantha), nephews Ryan Markin and Cole Markin and her great niece Blair Puchalski. She is predeceased by her brother Christopher Motyka.

Bonnie’s wish was granted when her closest family held vigil at her side. Their unwavering love and support gave her such comfort. A special thanks goes to her life long friends, Helen and Michelle Kaye, who stood by her side throughout. Bonnie will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends, especially her school family at St. Charles Garnier where she worked. A special thank you to Credit Valley hospital doctors and nurses who took such good care of her.

In lieu of flowers, to honour Bonnie’s memory, please kindly consider donating to Covenant House

Bonnie, we will miss your endless willingness to remind us that we were family, and how important that is. You were always there, and your passing is too soon for those of us left behind. You have left behind broken hearts, but also hearts filled with happy memories of you, and the love of all of us, your family.
