In Celebration of

Bob Klat

October 27, 1936 -  September 18, 2020

Bob was born in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec and moved to Montreal shortly afterwards.
As a child, Bob loved to read and play sports and continued to enjoy these passions throughout his whole life. As he grew older he also developed a love of travelling.
His successful sales career took him from Montreal to Halifax and to London, England, where he spent four years experiencing and enjoying all the enriching opportunities living abroad afforded him.
One of his most enjoyable sales experiences was his 20+ years as a sales agent with his partner,Ted. This role enabled him to travel extensively, taste exquisite wine and food and meet many interesting people.
Bob was a gentle, kind and generous man; an understanding, loving, and supportive husband; and was affectionately known as Big Bob by his many nephews and nieces.
Bob passed away peacefully on September18 after a six-month battle with cancer. Throughout this challenging journey he was a real trooper and never complained. He often commented about what a great life he had had and how fortunate he was to have such a devoted and caring wife, wonderful friends and a loving and supporting family.
Bob will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. As my sister, Tracey, said the day he died, “Heaven got a good one today.” Rest in peace my big, beautiful husband. I love you.

we definitely enjoyed so many wonderful dinners, travel, talks, sharing of ideas and wisdom. cant forget how Bob enjoyed the caparinha in portugal so i definitely had a drinking partner.
the great stories that Bob shared told us of his amazing ability to turn a potential client not only into a customer but a loyal one at that.
it has been so wonderful having you in our life as a friend, a travel partner and a very dear part of our family. our children and grandchildren adored Bob and you Holly.
with love and will miss you Bob, Rhoda and Herb

Beginning somewhere in the mid 1980s Holly and I and some of our colleagues who were teachers or school leaders at the time began what my husband called "The Pretty Nails" dinner club (of course I didn't really have very nice nails but Holly always did and I usually tried to fix mine up for the dinner night). For many years it was a monthly event but as we all changed positions or moved further away, it became less often, yet always something we cherished. Sometimes Bob would join the ladies for dinner and would share stories about wine, squash, Florida, houses, dogs, and of course family. Then Bob would have to endure listening to the ladies laughing while he tried to escape to the TV room or to his home office. I am so glad to have had all those evenings with Bob. I know how deeply he was loved and I send my sincere condolences to Holly and the family. Sending love from Jan, Carl, and all the dogs we've laughed about.

Big Bob, such a beautiful ,humble soul. Quiet in a crowd but full of wisdom and knowledge ,if asked. Our family, including the pets, cherished you greatly. We looked so forward to your visits, dinners(later than planned) were always a joy.Full of wonderful conversations, laughs and of course really good wine. We loved visiting you and Holly in Florida .I have very fond memories of putting on a fashion show for you with all our "bargains"you always had nothing but flattering remarks. Holly and I will continue to shop knowing you will be looking on approvingly . You will be greatly missed, but anyone who spent any time with you was blessed beyond measure.

We will miss Bob. He was kind, funny & a good friend. Ken will miss the doubles squash on Saturdays with Bob & other friends. I am so pleased I talked to him a couple of days before he passed. We had a wonderful conversation. Rest in peace, Bob.
