In Celebration of

Blake Sanders

April 22, 1993 -  March 9, 2023

With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved son and stepson, Blake. He was a cherished grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to so many.

Blake's favourite person in the world was his father… and he loved working with him at Sanders Steel. Nothing made him happier than to work and hang out with his Dad.

He loved the arts, fine dining, travel, reading and writing. He was precocious but he also was caring and compassionate, especially to his Nonna and Nonno. He gave them peace and comfort in their final years. For this Blake we are eternally grateful.

His greatest love and passion was linguistics. He spoke several languages including Italian, French and Russian and a bit of Chinese. He was mathematically gifted and participated in the Euclid Competition in High School. Blake loved attending York University and being part of campus life. Blake played the piano beautifully. He was polite, curious and one of smartest people you could ever meet.

Though he left this world far too soon, he will never be forgotten. Blake will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

Rest in Peace

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

It’s shocking that this is even happening. It’s so sad to lose Blake so early. He was young, super intelligent and such a funny guy. As kids we were always together playing and having fun. Such a wild child I’ll never forget him running around in his undies hahaha. So silly but so funny , he always found a way to make us laugh <3 I’ll miss you Blake and I love you always

Dear Carmelina,
So very sorry to hear of Blake’s passing. A very heart wrenching experience. My heart breaks for you. My deepest condolences. May your memories of him comfort you in your grief. Blake was such a blessing. So smart and so funny. Please know that we are eternal beings and death is but a transition in our soul’s journeys. Sending you light and love my dearest friend. Hugs and tears,
Love Chris

My mind still doesn't 100% believe this is real :-( I wish he had more time. I will always remember trips to African Lion Safari, Niagara falls, playing in the backyard. He was the cousin we spend the most time with growing up, it's so difficult to accept. Love you Blake, we will miss you.

My Dear Friend Carmelina

There are no words sufficient enough that can be said to heal the wound that has been left in your heart. I pray that God give you and Reid strength to heal and able to one day remember Blake for the wonderful man he was with comfort. I will miss his intellectual enquiring mind and his sense of humor, we shared some great conversations together.

May he rest in peace with Love the Zafiridis Family
