In Celebration of

Bill Majocha

August 22, 1928 -  June 20, 2024

It is with the deepest sadness we announce the passing of Bill peacefully at his home on June 20th 2024 at the age of 95.

Devoted husband of Margaret, his wife of 65 years. Loving father of Susan, Steven and Sharon. Much loved Grandpa to Melissa (Missa) and Kaitlyn.

Bill was born in Zurawno, Poland on August 22nd 1928.

His mom brought him to Canada at 8 months old. He grew up in Kinloch, Saskatchewan where his parents built a homestead and eventually purchased and moved to their new farm in Kelvington, Saskatchewan.

He moved to Toronto in his 20’s. He started a home painting business and later worked as a motorcycle officer for a short time. During this time he met his wife Margaret (Bartko). They were married on November 22nd 1958 in Fort William. He worked for Canada Post as a letter carrier, eventually becoming a supervisor until he retired in 1985.

Bill will be reunited with his parents Joseph and Mary, father-in-law Stephen (Theresa) Bartko, brothers Marjan (Eileen), Tony, sisters Stella (Morris) Bauder, Sandra (Peter) Anderson, Josephine (Wilfred) Hancock.

After retiring, Bill (Dad) affectionately known as Uncle Bill to all, still loved the outdoors, going up to the farm, nature and puttering around. He was always outside walking, talking to everyone, sharing stories, and enjoying life. He never gave up.

He loved spending time with Buttercup and his Granddaughter Melissa (his little angel) as he would say. His strong will and presence will be missed. No matter the problem, he always looked on the bright side of life. Mom said his nickname was “Happy”.

Bill will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto (just east of Jane St.) on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 10am. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
