In Celebration of

Beverley Springer

November 2, 1938 -  December 25, 2020

After a prolonged illness died December 25, 2020. Bev was predeceased by her husbands’ Dr. Jack Vanderburgh (2002) and Charles (Chuck) Springer (2014). Bev is survived by her two children Leslie Vanderburgh (Brad Walters) and Greg Vanderburgh (Diane Bohaker); five grandchildren Sarah, Zachary, Isabel, Jake and Isabella; and her three siblings James Machan (Ann), Linda Mackay (Lee) and Sandra Vessel (Klem).

Bev grew up in Chapleau, Ontario. Bev graduated from Toronto East General Hospital Nursing in 1959. She later went on to become a successful Real Estate Agent in Thornhill, Ontario. Bev was a longtime and active member of Thornhill Golf and Country Club enjoying bridge, golfing, and social activities until her illness prevented her from participating.

Throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s disease her sense of humour, grace and kindness prevailed. She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother and sibling. Bev had a wide social network and will be deeply missed by many family and friends.

Special thanks to her Caregivers Dolma and Juanita and all the staff and LHIN PSWs at the Kingsway Retirement Home for their dedicated care over the last few years of Bev’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bev’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or National Ballet of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Private service to be held on January 6, 2020 at Holy Trinity Church in Thornhill in accordance with current lockdown measures

Bev was a second mother to all of her siblings, always supportive and encouraging us to be the best that we could be. She continued that caregiver role with all of her nieces and nephews. I could not have asked for a better sister. Bev was always up for a new fun adventure with family and friends. She led a full and productive life - loved and admired by all.
