Betty Verna Dukelaw

June 25, 1924 -  April 20, 2021

Betty (nee Woods) beloved wife of the late Edgar Arthur passed away peacefully at the age of 96, after a short illness. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Lynn (Neilly) and granddaughter Nicole. Betty was predeceased by her son, Robert (Bob).
Betty was born in Rothsay, a small town north of Guelph. She moved to Toronto and graduated from the School of Nursing at the Toronto General Hospital in 1946.
Betty and Eddie were married 61 years, building a life full of love, laughter, and travel with wonderful friends.
Betty was a kind, sweet, caring soul who had a great compassion for others. She put everyone and everything ahead of herself, all the qualities that made her a good friend to many and an exemplary nurse.
Betty will be, “Loved beyond words and missed beyond measure”.
We would like to thank all the staff at Beechwood Retirement Home, Mississauga for their tender care and support.
Due to current Covid restrictions, the service will remain private to the family only.

Such a beautiful tribute about your mom, and all the wonderful things she brought into this world. I am saddened to hear that you lost such a special and important person in your life. You were blessed to have such a caring lady to call Mom.

We were so saddened to hear that Aunt Betty passed. Mom will miss her twice weekly chats (every Wednesday and Sunday). She was a great friend to Mom.
In their later years, as life became quieter for both, Mom would ask, "What's new?" and Betty would always reply "Not a whale of a lot." in her cheery voice. The two of them would tell and retell stories of the great travels they all took together.
I know how much you will miss her, Lynn. My thoughts and prayers for comfort go out for you.
Rhonda
