In Celebration of

Betty Nuttall

July 21, 1924 -  June 6, 2022

Betty Nuttall passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 6, 2022, at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband David and later partner Bill, Betty is lovingly remembered by her 3 children, Vicki, Mark and Chris (and spouses Karen/Glenda) and by grandchildren Eason (fiancé Natasha) and Emma. She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives and friends. Betty remained in her beloved home until a stroke severely reduced her mobility. She had a short stay at Etobicoke General.

Born in Huddersfield, U.K. Betty's parents were Fred a coal miner/Cooper & Ivy a homemaker. Betty's childhood interests included dance, winning several medals in competition. Betty started her own dancing school in her grandfather's home until she volunteered for the land army in WWII. Felling trees by day and entertaining (the troops) by night Betty was part of a dance troupe called the "Whiz-Bangs". Despite the war Betty described this period as some of the best days of her life.

During this time Betty met her Canadian husband, David. He was stationed nearby on military leave.

Post War Betty travelling as a “War bride” moved to Powell River, British Columbia (David's hometown) to marry but they spent the rest of their lives in Toronto.

Betty was fortunate to live a life free of any major health issues with family remaining close to enjoy all aspects of life. Betty and David loved to entertain, dance, including ice skating parties in the park. Betty often said she lived a “good and long life” and felt blessed. David predeceased Betty who enjoyed time with partner Bill for many years. Betty will be deeply missed but always loved for who she was and all that she gave

At Betty’s wish, there will be no service, a commemoration plaque is located near family home of 65+ years.

My deepest sympathies to the loss of your mother. I was so very blessed to know Betty. Especially for more than 30 years having given our father( Bill) so much happiness after the passing of our mother. He had a rough exterior but we know he loved Betty dearly. They very much complemented each other. We will miss them both very much. Although time marches on we will always have good memories.
