I remember Bernice fondly from my time working at Merton Street with Girl Guides of Canada. She was a dedicated volunteer, a thoughtful and considerate colleague, and a fun person to spend time with. I am sorry to hear of her passing, and I send my condolences to her family.
Dearest Pat, Cathy and Peggy, Our deepest condolences to you on the loss of your mom. Bernice and Art were truly one of a kind. We will and have missed our weekends away with our gospel choir and band. They were the highlight of the year. I personally will miss our talks and quiet time together. May God go with you all. R.I.P Bernice. All our love.
I never met your mother, Cathy, but I can see now where you got so many of your positive qualities. So sorry for your loss.

What a lady! Her Majesty, I called her. I will always remember the welcoming smile and bear hugs, her contagious laugh, how she made you feel so important, her sparkling eyes and mischievous character! Time with her was always well spent. How lucky I am that my brother, Peter, married her daughter, Peggy, so I could have her in my life. She was great friends with our mother (Jean Blatherwick) and I imagine the two of them, skiing and laughing and having a ball in Heaven! Bon voyage Your Majesty! We will miss you.
