In Celebration of

Barry Phillips

October 26, 1945 -  January 14, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry George Jennings Phillips at the age of 77. Barry passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Barry was the much-loved son of the late Violet (nee Jennings) and Ralph Phillips
and the beloved husband of 54 years to Janet (nee Alton). He was the proud father of Kyla Lepore (Angelo) and Courtney Chiarotto (Paolo) and a wonderful grandfather to Christian, Gabriella, Julian, and Michael. He was the loving brother to Audrey (Edward) Soper and Allan Phillips and the loving uncle, affectionately known as Uncle Bud, to Sue, Sandie, Jim, Michael, and Lisa. Barry was a long-time employee of Ferranti-Packard Transformers and Moloney Electric.

He will be remembered for his kind and selfless nature and the love he had for his family. He was so proud of them and honoured when “Team Bud” was formed and the family participated for many years in the Father’s Day Walk for Prostate Cancer Research. Barry fought cancer valiantly for 18 1/2 years. He was a warrior!

Thanks are owed to so many doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Trillium Health Partners, and donations to them would be greatly appreciated.

He will be greatly missed but will be forever in our hearts and our memories.
A private family funeral has been arranged. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

Marie and I never met anyone like Berry. He had a great sense of humour. I’m going to miss our talks. His selflessness, and
caring personality will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, during this difficult time.

So very sorry for your loss.
I was just remembering how much fun it was running into your family at the Centennial Park ski hill on those sunny fall days for the cross country meets. Seems like we ran into everyone there. Janet and Barry sure enjoyed watching their grandkids run.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time with our deepest condolences.

We enjoyed many happy family functions through the years ,though never enough, and
surely far too long ago. Barry will be at peace. Our thoughts are with you all.
