In Celebration of

Barry L. Matthews

August 18, 1943 -  August 18, 2021

A lifelong entrepreneur, Barry passed away peacefully in his Ancaster home. As the founder of BLM Advertising his team serviced large corporate accounts such as Sony Canada. During his career he was the proud owner of The George Street Gallery and MacMillan Northshore Limited. As a natural salesman and expert negotiator, Barry created BLM Auctions to market luxury estate homes to accredited buyers. In his spare time he collected and sold antique furniture and fine art; his favorite pieces were the portraits of his three children. Barry believed in living life to the fullest and learning as much as possible through international travel and good conversation. He was known for his love of cars, card games and antiques.

He leaves behind his daughters Caroline (“Carly”) of California and (“Chrissy”) Christine. He also leaves behind his son Barry (Tara Jane Turner) Matthews, grandchildren Christopher and Rebecca Matthews, his mother Audrey (Benjamin) Matthews, brother William (Barbara) Matthews, nieces Brenda (Steve) Gaull, Beth (Chris) Stoner and his former wife, Mary Ann (nee Neill.)

He is reunited with his father, Ben, and his favorite uncle, Andy, a war veteran. His laughter, sharp wit, stories and sense of humor will be missed dearly by friends and family.

Dad,
I've been thinking about you a lot since you passed. I have been remembering and sharing stories about you and the colourful life you led. Some of my favorite memories of you are from not only the places we went, but also from the conversations we had.
I love you and I will miss you.

Dad,
You were a great man! Your crazy sense of humor and your courage to try anything
new at any time will stay with me forever. You loved your family so much and we love you too.
So many more words to say...but I will keep this short and sweet.
Love you Daddie!!

Don and I are saddened to hear about the passing of your father. Life of course is a roller coaster with a lot of ups and downs. In the end, he will always be your Dad and we hope you have some great memories to cherish.

With love and hugs.
Don and Lesley
