In Celebration of

Barbara Ralston

September 8, 1927 -  June 25, 2023

With family by her side, Barbara Anne Ralston (nee Cutt) passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Barb is predeceased by her husband, Peter Ralston (1922 -2000). She will be dearly missed by her sons Steve Ralston (Odette), Alan Ralston (Shirley), and Jay Ralston (Christine). She will be remembered as a loving grandmother to her six grandchildren Jonathon (Raisa), Jessica (Adam), Ashley (Jordan), Kate (Matt), Peter, and Olivia.

Her mother Margaret passed on when Barb was 4. While remaining close to her father Jim Cutt , she was raised by her Aunt “Bud” (Jane) and her Uncle Pete Bisset on the family farm near Goderich where she had a happy childhood surrounded by her many cousins, and extended family.

Barb graduated from nursing in London Ontario and was working at St. Joseph’s Hospital when she met her husband, Peter. They married and moved to Toronto where the three boys were born. Barb continued providing compassionate patient care and was one of the early pioneers in the field of Home Care for Etobicoke patients.
Barb had a passion for music, the arts and travel, and spent many years wintering in Florida where she hosted family and friends. Barb was an active member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church for many decades. She was an avid bridge player and continued that passion into her nineties.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Funeral Home Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St.W., between Islington and Kipling Avenue., from 5-8 pm Wednesday.

Barb’s family welcome all in saying goodbye to Barb at the funeral service on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Giles Kingsway Presbyterian Church, 15 Lambeth Rd, Etobicoke.

If desired donations in Barb's memory can be made to charity of their choice.

Sincere sympathies and condolences extended to Alan, Jay and Steve on the loss of their dear mother. I have fond memories of delivering the newspaper to Mr. and Mrs. Ralston in Etobicoke in the 1960's and having pleasant conversations with them, also as I was a classmate of Alan. May God grant you peace and comfort as you mourn the loss of your mother.
Sincerely, Bob Stewart

Working for Alan for 20 years , I helped with and attended many Ralston Family events. Barbara was always a favorite of mine, cheerful, happy and always very easy with conversation, and genuinely interested in what others had going on in their lives. She adored her grandchildren and was as involved in their lives and much as she could in her senior years. She will be missed greatly by her very close family, and by those like me who just had the pleasure of knowing her. Rest peacefully Barb,
