In Celebration of

Barbara Micallef

March 24, 1933 -  June 26, 2021

Micallef, Barbara Ann (Jenner)
March 24,1933 - June 26,2021
88 years young

Peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, Barbara Micallef passed away on June 26th, 2021 into the arms of her loving husband John, who has been patiently waiting for her at the 19th hole. Now, Barbara and John are reunited in heaven, enjoying each other's company at the golf course. Barbara met John, the love of her life, at Runnymede High School. After a couple of ice skating dates and nights spent dancing at the local church, they fell for each other and got married on October 2, 1954. While keeping busy as they raised four children, Barbara and John remained active members in the community. Living in Toronto, you often could catch them spending time outdoors; whether it was playing tennis or golf at the Islington Club, they both loved socializing with friends. Retiring in Delray Beach, Florida, they decided to move to Delaire Country Club which was the origin of their new construction company: River Birch Homes. Barbara played a significant role in managing the day-to-day operations of their newfound luxury construction company alongside her husband and son. After her husband passed, Barbara longed to return to her home, Toronto, and spend more time with her daughters and growing families.

Barbara remained passionate about her artistic hobbies such as needlepoint and sewing. She had a soft spot in her heart for her grandkids, so she knitted them all blankets so they would remember her. Barbara also loved reading, interior design, and playing cards. In addition to all these amazing talents, she was a beautiful woman inside and out. While she was feisty and headstrong, Barbara was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She will be deeply missed by her children Michele (Tom Ross), Joanne (Michael Colucci), Laura (Peter Bodnick), John (Sarah Micallef), and her grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole (Brent Weston), Alexandria (Duncan Kennedy), D.J., Michael Jr, Anthony, Daniel, Giancarlo, Taylor, Kate, John Jr, and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jayden, Dane, Levi, and Oliver.

Private family services will take place. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society – Multiple Myeloma, in honour of Barbara and John Micallef.

We will never forget you, Mom. You will always be in our deepest thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace.
