November 18, 1957 -  August 13, 2021

Passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Toronto, on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at the age of 63. Loving and cherished mother and best friend of Amanda. Much loved sister of Donna McKay (Bob MacDougall), David Ott (Alyce), Gina Langlois (Tim), and Darlene Ott. A loving and thoughtful Aunt to Bryan McCourt, Tyler Langlois, Nick Langlois, Matthew Wagg and Stephanie Wagg and their families. Barbara will also be fondly remembered by Amanda’s father, Steve Headley and all of the Headley family, as well as her many Toronto and North Bay friends with whom she enjoyed years of friendship. Barbara leaves behind her much adored furry companion, Oliver. Barbara worked at Transatlantic Reinsurance Company for over 35 years. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with Amanda, family and friends. Barbara was always a giving person and will always be remembered by everyone for her quirky sense of humour, kindness to everyone and her devotion to us all.

A private visitation will be held, with a funeral service taking place on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. Due to the limitations surrounding COVID-19, attendance is limited to invited guests only. The service will be livestreamed for those who are not able to attend the service, a link will be available momentarily.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to a local Food Bank or a Women’s Shelter, of your choice in her memory. Barbara would like us all to enjoy the simple things in life.

My heart is broken to have to day goodbye to my very dear friend Barb. She was a very generous and kind person and always thought of others before herself. I will miss our phone calls and her wonderful sense of humor. I am glad she had her daughter Amanda to share her life with and they loved each other very much. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life. Love to all her Family and Friends who loved her dearly. Janet
