In Celebration of

Audrey Maltman (nee Burbridge)

December 2, 1940 -  May 30, 2020

Passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2020, in Mississauga, Ont. Beloved wife of Allan Maltman, loving mom to Tracy (Lance) and James (Liz). Much loved Nana of Neil and Hailey.

Mom was very much like the books she loved to read - her chapters unfolded with her family through a number of different cities. Her adventures from childhood grew as she did - into a single woman, a wife, a mom, a nana, a friend, a confidant, a colleague, a dog lover, a cottager, a traveler. Each chapter had its own plot twists, with ups and downs, laughter and tears, all entwined with family and friends at that time in her story.

In keeping with Mom's story and in lieu of a service we would love if you shared a few words or a memory from time spent with her. In some cases’s a picture can be worth a thousand words - as the one posted here with Mom and Dad from their time at the North Bay Nugget where they met. This picture is a favorite of moms.

A wish for mom - A book, a balcony, and ocean breezes.

Virtual hugs to all.

If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Audrey and I were colleagues at SMBC for 10 years and she was a dear friend of mine. It broke my heart to hear the sad news, and I would like to convey my sincerest condolences to her family. She always spoke with great pride about her son and daughter, her beautiful and smart grandchildren and her beloved husband. I will always remember and cherish Audrey's great optimism and cheerful personality. May she rest in peace.

Audrey was always my favourite cousin. The many memories, from her and Al's wedding at the old T.C.A. Hall, to the times on the beach and dock at camp, will forever be etched in my mind. My Dad, her favourite Uncle Roy, with his teasing chuckle, always welcomed her with his bear hug. Cottage life has not, and will never,be the same without her! God speed!

Audrey's playfulness radiates in her favorite picture. May she continue her playfulness in heaven, as she reconnects with all her loved as they great her with open arms.

My condolences to each member of Audrey's family, and all her friends. During this hard time, may you all get strength from the beautiful memories she has left in your lovely hearts.

Regards,

Par

I love all my cousins and there are/ were many , but I saw Aud as a kindred spirit and enjoyed many happy moments with her, especially as a teen-aged.We seemed to enjoy the same things and had a special cousin relationship. I will miss her ,however, I do have some special memories that will live within for always. RIP COUSIN,

Audrey was a sun lover when she was in her teens. She used to get her skin so dark that once when we visited my grandmother in Ottawa, my grandmother asked is she was a black person. Audrey always had a laugh. and we had many fun days together and holidays. God bless her . she deserves a book, a beach and some sun.
