In Celebration of

Ray Butler

March 4, 1934 -  April 6, 2021

On the evening of April 6 2021 while resting peacefully at his home in Toronto, Raymond Arthur Butler passed from his earthy home to his heavenly one while in his 87th year. With his wife of 66 years Joan by his side and surrounded by his daughter Joy ( Paul ) his son Brad ( Donna ) and his four adult grandchildren Angela, Crystal, Keith , and Lorraine , Joan's sister Marjorie ( Bill ) and brother Keith . Ray loved the water, to be in and on it in whatever watercraft you had, big or small. He loved his canoe with his homemade sail and rudder board. He loved to motor bike and in later years to bicycle through the park trails and the lakefront, he was always gone for hours. He loved a good game of pool or snooker with his weekly gang and looked forward to it and seldom missed a chance to play. Ray could fix anything using only a few of the raw materials he happened to always have on hand. He loved to hand carve wooden water fowl like ducks and to paint them to look just like the real thing. He loved to build and paint bird houses too, and the birds seem to like them as well. He like to work on puzzles and then frame them and give them away as gift's, I am sure we all have a piece of Ray's handicraft in our homes. Ray will be missed, no kinder gentler man ever lived on the face of God's green earth or sailed his ocean’s blue. He went home to be with his precious savior Jesus and to join his mom and dad, his brother Norm and grandson Stephen in what as Ray called it Glory Land.
Jesus said In John 14: 1-3
“Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (NIV)

We all have this same promise and assurance that we too will see him again.
Fair winds and calm seas Ray.
A PRIVATE FAMILY service will be held on Thursday at 11 am. Friends and extended family may watch the livestream at https://youtu.be/OEGqtNsqvao
