Artie Bernadette De Souza

September 13, 1948 -  October 26, 2022

Arthemesia (Artie) Bernadette De Souza, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, age 74, died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at their home in Etobicoke, ON after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Artie was born on September 13, 1948 in Nairobi, Kenya to Fidelis and Ida De Souza.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Artie had a passion for singing and playing the piano, loved cooking for her loved ones and friends, and was devoted to helping others, especially in the church ministry. Artie had a bright and energetic personality. She touched many lives with her warmth, caring and generosity.

In 1971, Artie happily married Clifford De Souza who was her partner in life for almost 51 years at the time of her death.

Artie is survived by her loving husband Clifford; children Sandra (Fayed), Ian (Heather), Julian (Fiona); grandchildren Aleeza and Jordan; and sister Carol (Merwin). Sadly her brother Bernie and his wife Abbey passed away within the past year.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Turner and Porter - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 4 pm - 8 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 480 Rathburn Rd., Etobicoke on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10.30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life in the Parish Hall.
