In Celebration of

Antonio Nero

October 16, 1955 -  January 8, 2025

We are devastated to announce the passing of Antonio (Tony) Nero, at the young age 69, who left us unexpectedly on January 8, 2025.

Tony was a proud Italian born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, son to the late Livia Nero (nee Monaco) and Giuseppe Nero and is survived by his partner of 15+ years, Nancy LaRizza, with whom he shared a close bond and soul mate connection with, he will always live on in her heart. Although divorced, he leaves behind his ex-wife and friend of over 30 years, Mary Nicolini Nero. He is terribly missed by his children, Alexandra Vatalaro (Joseph Vatalaro), JC Nero (Sabrina Woroszyl), and Rea Pizzuto (Agostino Pizzuto). He was a proud grandfather (Nonno) to Massimiliano and Giorgia Vatalaro, Luca Nero & Antonio Pizzuto. Missed by his sister Anna Maria Ciuffreda (the late Frank Ciuffreda) and nephews Thomas and Daniel Ciuffreda. He also leaves behind his best friend and trusted companion, his dog Tangerine (Tangie).

Tony was a simple man and not one of many words, unless it came to the lyrics of his favourite songs. He loved music and passed his incredible taste in 70s classic rock to his kids who spent every Sunday morning jamming out to Q107 at the crack of dawn and being tested in a never-ending game of "who sings this", Tony even had the Led Zeppelin symbols tattooed on his arm.

Tony loved sports - although hockey was his passion (a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan), you could also catch him watching any sport under the sun, even curling once in a while...

His family and friends are at peace knowing he is enjoying all of his favourite foods (unlimited veal sandwiches), all the sports channels possible, whilst listening to his Led Zeppelin record collection and with a glass of crown on the rocks in hand.

In lieu of flowers, Tony requested that donations be made to an animal shelter or Humane Society of your choice in his memory. As per his wishes, the viewing and funeral service will be private, for immediate family only.

Tony's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will forever be loved and missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of sharing in his quiet wisdom and joy.
