He will be missed by his great-grandchildren Angelina, Ivana, Karmela, Milan, Jack, Leo, Lucia, and Eleanora.

Ante was born in Dobrinče, Croatia. At a young age, he took on the burden of supporting the family due to the illness of his father, Marko. After marriage to Karmela in 1954, they started their own family. He escaped communist Yugoslavia to Italy in search of a better future for his family. Eventually, he made his way to Toronto, Canada in 1960. Finally, in 1963, Karmela and their children joined Ante. In the beginning, his struggles and hardships in a new country were many as he and Karmela built a home while raising their five children. Ante was actively involved within the Croatian community. He worked at Long Manufacturing in Oakville and became friends with many of his coworkers over the years. He was courageous, kind, helpful, and generous to all he met, his home was always open to everyone with a warm smile and open heart. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a determined hard worker who was respected by all.

Ante’s family will receive relatives and friends at Turner & Porter - 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Funeral mass will be held at Croatian Martyrs Church - 4605 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga, on November 13 at 10:00 am. As per Ante's wish, he will be buried in Croatia.

Another Legend has graced our time & reality with his positive & inspiring life. I am greatful for all the good Croatian people especially the brave men that held on to their tradition, culture & history as true patriotic Croats in North America/ Canada. Because of men like Tony younger generations of men like myself exist & further carry the torch of our proud heritage with our families & communities. Živili Ante, bilo čast tebi upoznati i ti si bio pravi izbor meni i mnogi Hrvati u diaspori. Neka te Bog duša pomilovao jer ko ti znao znade da si sa Bogom i tvojoj dragom Karmela u raju!
Svi Pilića i Raos primi našu saocešce.
