In Celebration of

Anne Mary Kowalski (nee Plaza)

July 29, 1936 -  November 12, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our loving mother and wife, Anne Kowalski, who went to heaven on November 12th, 2024. Married 65 years to John and loving mother to David (Kelly), Johnny and Anne (Chris). Wonderful grandmother to Alexandra, Gavin, Matthew, Tessa, Cameron and Lauren. Wonderful great-grandmother to Jett, Hudson, Winter, William and Wyatt.

Predeceased by her father and mother, Josef and Anastasia Plaza as well as brothers Casimir and Walter.

Graduated from the University of Toronto in 1958 with a B.A. in English, she was also proficient in French and Ukrainian. For many years, she was a travel agent which enabled her to see the world and to visit so many places that many of us will not have the opportunity to see. Devoted animal lover and a warm home to many strays. Full of love, laughter and incredible resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her.

Visitation and funeral service are to be held Monday, November 18th, 2024 at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto from 12pm to 1pm, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1pm. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

I didn't know Mrs Kowalski long, but what I learned very quickly is that she had a great sense of humour, was a devoted mother and wife and was a friend of all animals. She will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.

Aunt Anne was a beautiful person and I have strong memories of her and Uncle John and the family from my childhood. May she rest in peace.

Dear John and Family...

I am so sorry and sad to hear of Anne's passing. She was a beautiful person, both inside and out. I met her several times over the years, especially when we rented both cottages on Buckhorn Lake, those were wonderful memories for me and my family. Please know you are in my prayers and hoping you find peace and comfort with the wonderful memories of your lives together.
