After a brief hospital stay, Anne died peacefully at 87 years of age in Mississauga, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Annie (nee Jones) and Paolo Dabene, daughter Deborah Anne Button, brothers Sam, Anthony, James, George, sisters Christina, Marguerite Lavergne, Carol Himes and Pauline.
Survived by her daughter Susan Dart (Steve), grandchildren Angela Woodbury (Carl), Taylor Dart (Paola), Tristan Alexander (Jason), great-grandchildren Keisha Pepin, Jennifer Tria, Jason Tria, Levi Alexander, Harper Alexander, great-great granddaughter Lyvia Pepin. She also leaves behind a large family of nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues.
Anne was born and raised in Ottawa. She was active in the labour movement and worked for various union organizations. She worked with Intergovernmental Affairs and was involved with two Royal Visits to Toronto one with the Queen Mom and the other with Queen Elizabeth. She finished out her last several years of employment with the Court of Appeal of Ontario - a job that she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was happiest spending time with family and friends, baking and watching sports.
