In Celebration of
Anne Jane Grant
November 6, 1929 -
April 25, 2022
Anne Jane Grant (née Morton) passed away on April 25, 2022 in Mississauga at 92.
She is predeceased by her husband Robert Bruce Grant, and will be remembered with love and affection by her three children David (Nan Plant), Bruce (Dori Antolin) and Dianne (Steven Gray), her seven grandchildren James (Kristy), Amanda (Sam), Samantha, Rebecca, Jessica, Tomas and Luisa and her two great-grandchildren Thomas and Jack.
Born in 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, Anne was one of four children, growing up in the city and spending summer at Sturgeon Lake outside Lindsay, Ontario.
Anne met Robert as a student at Macdonald Institute, while he studied at the neighbouring University of Guelph. After graduation the two married and raised their family in Port Credit, where they lived together for over 50 years.
Anne had her hands full with her three children, providing hot chocolate for the neighbourhood during rowdy shinny games on their homemade ice rink, or lemonade in the summer between bike rides and ball games.
Anne loved her family deeply– always putting her children first, and later frequently stepped in to babysit her grandchildren. She made it a point to attend every concert, graduation and sports game she could.
She passed on her love of golf to her kids and grandkids alike, and could often be found out on the links working on her game (despite the fact she never took a practice swing). Many a family birthday, anniversary and Sunday afternoon were spent at Credit Valley where she was a member for 38 years. The grandkids especially loved when Grandma would treat them to milkshakes on the patio. When she wasn’t working on her short game, she could be found bidding on hands of bridge.
Thank you to the staff at both the Port Credit Residences and Trillium Health’s Mississauga Hospital who were so attentive and responsive in their care for Anne.
The family will have a private celebration of Anne’s life.
Donations can be made in her memory to the Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital or Princess Margaret Hospital.
