In Celebration of

Anna Jane Gilchrist

June 22, 1942 -  October 9, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Jane Gilchrist on Sunday October 9, 2022, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her father and mother, Errick and Louise Willis and brothers Dick and Skip Willis; beloved wife of Jim, mother of Stacy, Libby (Colin) and Kate (Jamie), adoring Nana to Conor, Oliver and Louis.

Our AJ leaves with us an enduring legacy. Her compassion and care for others was unmatched as was her positive outlook and wisdom in knowing what matters most – family and friends. She was a gracious and grounded inspiration to friends everywhere. She will be remembered for her warm and inclusive nature, love and kindness for everyone, generosity of spirit and unique knack for making everyone feel welcome and loved.

In addition to family and friends, her contribution to the community was immeasurable, with leadership positions on countless boards of charitable organizations. Her impact was felt in the lives of so many. She was quite simply the best person we knew.

The family will receive friends at Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor Street West from 6-9 pm on Tuesday October 18. A memorial service will take place at St. George’s on the Hill Anglican Church at 11:30am on Wednesday October 19.

Anna Janes obituary says it all. Her warm nature always included us as guests when Jim and Anna Jane hosted the Lawlor family. We always felt so included in the Gilchrist home. Our thoughts are with the Gilchrist family. It is so difficult for two close loving families to mourn the death of two kind, caring and wonderful women. May you find comfort and peace with your memories.
