In Celebration of

Ann Wright

October 24, 1939 -  January 14, 2019

Peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of dearly-missed Gordon who predeceased her in 2007. Treasured mother and mentor to Chris, Andrew, Sean and Lisa. Adored Nonna to Jensen, Jaime, Hannah and Evan. Dearly loved mother-in-law and inspiration to Anita and Julie. Cherished sister-in-law to Carole and Ron. Dearest aunt to Graeme, Kelley, Kevin, and Christie. Ann was blessed to share her recent years with a wonderful and special companion in Bud Old. Ann was predeceased by her brother Frank and parents Antonio and Geraldine Mariani. Ann touched the lives of many, including lifelong friends Phyllis and Aldo Anzil and Liz and Jim Allen. Children were her life and passion and she cherished every moment of her long career as a primary teacher with the Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board, especially her kindergarten years at St. Christopher’s and St. Luke’s. She was an active member of the Retired Teachers and Retired Women Teachers of Ontario. Ann shared her love of music with all, directing and performing with multiple church and teachers’ choirs and the Clarkson Music Theatre. Friends will be received at the Turner and Porter “Neweduk- Erin Mills” Chapel (905-828-8000), 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (1 block east of Erin Mills Pkwy) on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 1171 Clarkson Rd. N., Mississauga on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11a.m., followed by an interment at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Carlo Fidani Cancer Centre at Credit Valley Hospital or Toronto Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated.

Clarkson Music Theatre has lost a great mother, daughter, wife, partner, grandmother, sister, teacher, performer, producer and friend. Ann Wright left us on January 13, 2019 surrounded by family and loved ones. Ann was active with CMT for many years. She was a truly generous soul and she made her mark in CMT in so many ways. She last appeared on stage in CMT's The Gondoliers. She was a valued producer for On the Twentieth Century. She was a cherished conductor for the Christmas Cheer Choir. She performed in countless concerts. Ann served on CMT’s Board. Clearly, Ann was small but mighty and she is best known for her gentle voice, her loving nature, and her huge heart. We extend our sincere condolences to her family and to her partner Bud Old. She will be missed. “May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Mrs. Wright was my Grade 2 teacher and a friend to our family through St. Christopher's church for many years. She was such a beautiful, kind person.

Our hearts go out to the entire family at this difficult time.

Anne was a wonderful person. We will miss her. I enjoyed singing in a choir which she had directed for RWTO.
