With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aniela Białas-Zawadzka, aged 76. After a difficult battle with cancer, she passed away at home, on the morning of June 6 th, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and loved ones.

Aniela was a devoted mother to Katarzyna (Mariusz) and Aleksandra (Dariusz), and a loving grandmother to Magdalena, Michael, Adrianna, and Natalia.

She was predeceased by her brothers Jan, Włodzimierz, and Stanisław, and is survived by her brother Józef.
She also leaves in deep grief her family and friends in Canada and Poland.

Aniela was born in Pieniężno, Poland, to Michał and Helena. In 1971 she graduated from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, earning the title of Agricultural Engineer — an education reflecting her close bond with nature. Professionally she worked as a laboratory manager and later as director of a grain facility in Pieniężno. She was known for her hard work, intelligence, and dedication.

In 1972, she married, and in 1973 and 1974 her daughters Katarzyna and Aleksandra were born. She raised them independently with love and maternal wisdom, supported by her mother Helena. She built a home grounded in care, love, Catholic values, and respect for others.

Aniela found joy in gardening, baking bread, making preserves from her harvest, arranging flowers, and knitting—always finding ways to express both her creativity and scientific mind. She loved to travel and explore new places.

In 2018, she moved to Canada to live with her daughters and their families. To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother — she was a teacher and a friend. She shared a love for nature, stories about family roots, history and traditions.

She leaves behind warm memories and values that will live on in us and future generations.
