In Celebration of

Angus Reid

March 25, 1929 - December 18, 2022

After a life lived with fortitude, purpose and adventure, Angus Herbert Reid passed away, at the age of 93 on December 18, 2022, with family by his side and the support of the amazing team at Newmarket Health.

Predeceased by the love of his life, Barbara Reid (2008); parents, Robert and Anita; siblings Jim (Pert), Peggy, and Dorothy (Trevor). Loving and proud father of Marc (Michele), Derek (Kellie), Scott (Erica), and Andrea Beach (Jeff); and adoring and spirited Poppa to Danielle , Jonathan, Jacob, Laura, Jessica, Cassandra, Mackenzie, Emily, Jackson and great-grandchild, Isabella.

Born in Granby, Quebec, Angus lived and made lifelong connections in many cities across Canada throughout his childhood and working life.

His career began as an apprentice with the Woolworth Company and after 32 years, Angus joined MacLeods, followed by Moen, before retiring to a wonderful life with family and enjoying the company of good friends.

He was known to treasure winters in Sarasota, summers on the golf course, travel, fitness, and his personal interests in his investments and charities.

Angus firmly believed in family, integrity, work ethic, determination, a good sense of humour and "the love of a good woman". This was the foundation of all of his endeavours and he attributed these values to his life well-lived. Even in his latter years when he battled dementia, he often said he was the luckiest man alive.

We will all miss him dearly. Memories are special - treasure them.

Special thanks go to the wonderful teams at Newmarket Health Long-Term Care Centre and Kingsway Place Retirement home for their care and compassion.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

A private ceremony will be held, and Angus will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Barbara, in Alliston.

Arrangements entrusted to Turner and Porter, Yorke Chapel.
