Love you forever Nonno! My childhood when I think back is full of memories of you and nonna. We loved staying at your house for the weekend and always felt so spoiled and loved staying with you. You always would take Justin and I to the dollar store to get toys and it was so exciting and fun. I’ll always remember you how you and nonna let me get a fish and bring it back lol even tho you probably knew it would die and it did on the bed stand overnight.

Every summer was the best when August rolled around because that meant we got to make tomato sauce. I was always amazed how you got that big pot down from the top of the garage and was able to get it back up again lol

I will always remember how you and nonna took care of us and all the memories of being with you in the garden or always being innovative and I have a memory of us in the backyard and you showed Justin how to make a tool with a stick, always knew how to fix everything. And you helped hang up all of my Disney pictures too you always did what you could for us.

Thanks for being there for us as a listening ear and for loving us. I remember when you would come to my soccer games and so much more.

You would take me to cantina to show me the proscitto you were making and always would cut us a piece.

Even in my adult hood when I would come to visit you I know how proud you were of all of your grandchildren and to make sure everyone knew who we were and you would introduce me to all the staff taking care of you. Thanks for loving us and we will all always love you ❤️❤️❤️

I grew up with his son Pino and so spent a lot of time at their home, as both a kid and as a young adult, and over that time I got to know Mr Pate well. There were many times that I dropped by, and he always seemed to be outside gardening, or repairing something, or in the garage restoring a beautiful piece of furniture. Because of his influence I also took a keen interest in some of these things, but I was never as good as Mr Pate. I have never met anyone more intuitive than him. He had an ability to fix almost anything, and wasn’t just excellent at restoring things but could craft new pieces to replace lost ones. Also, he not only grew an abundance of food and beautiful plants but also designed and built the outdoor space to enjoy those things. And there would never be a visit without him sitting down to chat and share in a glass of his homemade wine. He seemed to have endless amounts of energy and kept his hands busy with his creative ways. Both Mr and Mrs Pate showed me nothing but generosity and kindness every time I would visit, wonderful traits that they have passed on to their children and grandchildren. He was a good man.
