It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted wife, Ana Malovic.
Ana is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ivan, and her three daughters: Nada (Ivica), Ana (Zlatko), and Ivanka (Frank). She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren: Katarina (Daniel), Jasmina, Marija, and Nicole, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren: Cristian, Natalie, and Logan.
She also leaves behind her dear sisters in Croatia, Katarina and Barbara, along with many extended family members and friends in both Croatia and Canada. Ana was predeceased by her parents, Ana and Vjekoslav Malovic, her sisters Maca and Dragica, and her brothers Josip and Ivan.
Born on February 5, 1937, in Novigrad na Dobri, Croatia, Ana worked at the Pamucna Industrija in Duga Resa, where she later settled with Ivan after their marriage on September 20, 1959, to raise their two daughters. In 1973, the family immigrated to Canada, beginning a new chapter in Toronto near Ivan’s siblings Vlado (Ruza) and Katarina (Stevo). In 1975, Ana gave birth to her third daughter, and in 1980, the family moved to Mississauga, where they built a loving home filled with warmth, tradition, and hospitality.
Ana had a passion for cooking and gardening, and her home was always open to visitors. If you stepped through her door, you never left hungry—her legendary homemade strudels and generous spirit left lasting memories for all who knew her.
Above all, Ana found deep joy in her family, especially in the role of grandmother. She played an active and nurturing part in raising her four granddaughters, a source of great pride and fulfillment.
A woman of unwavering faith, Ana was devoted to the Lord and sustained by prayer throughout her life. Her strength, grace, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Pocivala u miru Bozjem. Neka ti je laka ova kanadska zemlja.
