In Celebration of

Ana Jaksa

August 4, 1926 -  December 12, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the age of 96, with her family by her side. Mother to Frank (Josephine) and Barbara (Nick) and predeceased by her husband, Nikola (deceased 1971). Loving and adored grandmother to Nick Jr. (Linda), John (Katarina), Nicholas, Christine (Josip), Katherine (Robert), Jessica (Nicholas) and 12 great-grandchildren.

Born in Lipnicki Novaki, Croatia, Ana came to Canada with her children Franje (Frank) and Barica (Barbara) in 1959 to join her husband in Toronto, establishing a new life in this vibrant city.

She was a loving and hardworking wife and mother who took great pride and joy in raising her family. She eventually settled in Mississauga and was a devoted member of the Croatian Martyrs Parish.

While Alzheimer’s disease slowly took over in her final years, Ana’s unwavering strength and love continued to shine amongst her family and friends. Many thanks to the staff at Silverthorn Community Care for their dedication, kindness and respect in her final years.

Friends may attend at Turner and Porter “Peel” Chapel 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy 10 North of QEW), Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2-4pm & 6-9pm, Funeral Mass at Croatian Martyrs Church, 4605 Mississauga Road, Mississauga on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 10:00am. Interment Assumption Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Ontario and/or Church of the Croatian Martyrs (4605 Mississauga Rd., Miss).
