In Celebration of

Ana Benko

July 15, 1932 -  November 14, 2023

When the gates of heaven open, God chooses his new angels.

Ana Benko passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital, at the age of 91, with her family by her side, holding her hand till the end.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Zvonko (2020). Cherished mother of John (Kathy) and Lily Jackson (Kevin). Loving Babi of Steven (Martina) and Jessica.

Daughter of the late Rudolf and Roza Radman, leaving in sorrow her only sister and best friend Ljubica Sergo (Nino), along with her nieces Sonia (Nick) and Sindy (Danny) in Canada as well as her nieces and nephews in Croatia, Durda, Ljuba, Ivica and Tony with their families.

Along with many other relatives, friends and kumovi she leaves behind 5 sister-in-laws: Jagoda Heilman (Vlado), Marica Glusic (late Janko), Ana Benko (late Mirko) Ana Benko (late Joe) and Nada Benko (late Albert) and their families.

Ana loved the the outdoors. She would spend many days at her beloved cottage in the Kawartha's. Always with a broom or a rake in her hand during the day and then a deck of cards after dinner for hours after hours of playing "snaps". It was always, just one more game.

Ana and Zvonko, attended mass regularly (during non cottage season). When they were unable to attend mass on their own, they watched it everyday on TV. Eventhough it was in English, Ana had her Bible and followed along in Croatian. We could always hear them praying together before bed and she always crossed herself when she sat at the table to eat. She read her Bible everyday as is evident by all of the scotch tape holding it together.

Ana overcame many struggles and hardships in her life but always kept a smile on her face while keeping her faith. Whatever dear God wants, she would always say.
She did everything with her "Svit hart" (Sweetheart) until the dear Lord took him away from us. Zvonko is waiting for her now. Once again, they can be together for eternity.

Babi, when our tears finally dry we will be grateful that you were in our lives till 91 years young. We have shared so many beautiful memories that will remain in our hearts forever.Your infectious laugh, your loving heart and your genuine goodness will not be forgotten.

Your family and friends love you and miss you.Until our paths cross again.
