Alves was an exceptional father-in-law to me. Throughout the years, I have held him in high regard, almost like a father figure. When I first began dating Caroline, she mentioned that her father did not allow her to date. As a result, I was introduced to her mother, Barbara, first. It seemed that Barbara took a liking to me, as Caroline eventually invited me into their home.
I vividly remember the moment when I walked past Alves, who was engrossed in reading the newspaper. Suddenly, he stopped reading, glanced up at me with an intimidating expression, which startled me. Despite his initial reaction, I remained hopeful that I could eventually earn his approval. Until his recent passing, we shared a wonderful relationship.
Alves was a gentle, kind-hearted man who exuded generosity. He enjoyed discussing the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays, playing his guitars, violin, and accordion, as well as riding his old exercise bike daily. Caroline and I will deeply miss him, but we will forever hold onto the cherished memories we shared.
Love Tim & Caroline
