In Celebration of

Alexandra "Olesia" Holynsky

March 15, 1928 -  September 27, 2020

With deep sadness and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Mama and Babtsia on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at the age of 92. Gone to be with her beloved Bohdan, husband of 58 years (predeceased 2011).

She leaves behind her three much loved and treasured daughters: Roma (Gord), Christine (Taras) and Laryssa. Babtsia cherished and adored her six grandchildren: Nadine, Tanya, Mark, Nicholas, Noah and Anka, and recently became Pra-Babtsia to Mieka and Jacob. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Christine (Ray), and family.

As our beloved and resilient family matriarch, she was exceptionally generous and leaves behind a legacy of strength, love and compassion. An accomplished registered nurse, she devoted more than three decades of her life to the medical profession, making a lasting impact during her tenure as a nurse with Kodak Canada.

We are eternally grateful to the remarkable and kind-hearted Spruce/third floor staff at Post Inn Village in Oakville. Your exceptional care and loving support to Alexandra and her family over the years will never be forgotten.

Due to pandemic-related restrictions, a private family service will be held to honour Alexandra’s life. Vichnaya Pam’yat.

Sending compassionate caring to all of the Holynsky family upon the death of your mother and grandmother. Knowing of her passing, brings back memories of a trip to Jamaica Laryssa and I took with your mother over the university’s reading week 37 years ago . It was on that adventure that I got to know her better and experience her many wonderful qualities. You are all so fortunate to have been loved and nurtured by a woman who was so dedicated family.

Pani Holynsky will be missed at all the family birthdays, Christmas', Easter celebrations that Tarac and Chris had at their home. She was a wonderful Mama and Babcha. I feel lucky to have met such a caring and loving person.

A wonderful person; a pillar of kindness and caring. Her legacy is her remarkable family, from children to grand-children, to nieces and nephews. She lives on in all of us., especially in that delightful laugh.

Hi there, I am so happy to have known Alexandra (Babcia) over the past 11 years at Post Inn Village. She always had a smile to greet me everyday and would endlessly ask me about my children and my husband- we developed a close bond through our Ukrainian heritage. My deepest condolences to Roma, Chris and Laryssa and family for the loss of Mama, she will be forever in our hearts and memories here at PIV.
