In Celebration of

Alexander Richard Starzynski

June 27, 1961 -  August 4, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Alex, son of Richard and Alicia Starzynski. He is survived by sisters, Liz Malicki (Chris), Barbara Healey (Kyle), Veronica Patterson (Ian), brother Michael, by nieces/nephews Adrianna (Brandon), Greg (Linda), Noelle, Stephanie, Marcus, Conor, and by grand-niece/nephews Felix, Violet, Evan, Daniel.

Alex, a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold, had the talent of engaging anyone in conversation. His landscaping clients and the residents of his group home loved him for his compassion and sincere interest in the welfare of others. The twinkle in his green eyes came to life recalling stories of younger years in Willowdale. Alex had an outstanding memory for names, events, actual conversations, especially regarding his hockey experiences. On the ice, Alex was a fierce and respected competitor.

“Dear Alek, the coffee times at Timmy’s will be greatly missed. Now you can share your views of life with mom and dad. Dobranoc”.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to Parkside Rest Home (Acton) and the Georgetown Adult Day Program (Silvercreek) for their dedicated care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Whitby. Please contact mike@starzynski.net regarding attendance.

For those who wish donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario.

Most of you that knew him would agree he was a gentle giant liked by all the people he ever met. He was a kind and gentle soul. Alex had a real challenge battling a disabling disease for most of his life, yet he was able to keep his siblings Liz Barb Veronica and I on a even keel with his incredible positive attitude. He was indeed a chip off the old block - his mother Alicija who passed earlier this year. We will miss him dearly.

"see ya on the ice ...big Al"!

A branch has fallen from the family tree. Miss you my sweet brother.
