In Celebration of

Aldona Karosas

November 26, 1934 -  May 2, 2021

On May 2, 2021, Aldona Karosas passed away peacefully at Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home in Toronto.

Beloved sister of Neris Ankus.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters Kristina, Ramona (Christopher), Lina (Eric) and Jasmine as well as her grandchildren Loreta, Mykolas, Lucas, Katrina, Brigit, Ariel, and great grandchildren Alexander and Amelia.

Born in 1934 in Lithuania, Aldona came to Canada with her mother and sisters as post war refugees. Here, she and her family found a home in a community of proud new Canadians who maintained a deep love of their homeland and sought to maintain their heritage through their many religious and cultural activities.

Aldona was a person of deep faith who was devoted to the Catholic Church. She gave generously of herself to many Christian charities both in Canada and abroad.

Aldona was a talented artist (graduate of OCAD), dancer and poet (published), who enjoyed music and community theatre. She was a loyal employee of Christie Biscuits for 45 years, and spent many vacations travelling the world, a passion that she instilled in her own children.

She was kind and warm hearted, a gentle soul who had a great sense of humour and a knack for storytelling. She will be remembered as beautiful and gracious.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone at Labdara. As a long-time resident of the home, the staff provided exceptional care and guidance to our mother as she descended deeper into her dementia. We are forever grateful for the love, compassion and patience shown to her.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family mass will be held at Lithuanian Martyrs’ Catholic Church, followed by interment. If desired, donations may be made to Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home in her honour.
